Who is responsible

Hugh Templeton, sole trader trading as Fun Time Franky, is the data controller for personal information handled through this store.

When you contact us

We receive your email address, the contents of your message and any details you provide, such as your name and order reference. We use these to answer questions and handle customer-service or privacy requests. Our customer-service mailbox is provided by Proton Mail.

We rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or performing a contract, where your enquiry concerns a purchase. For other routine enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We rely on legal obligations when handling statutory data-protection requests.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry, meet applicable record-keeping requirements and deal with related disputes. The duration depends on the enquiry and any legal requirements that apply.

The basket stores a Shopify cart identifier in browser local storage so the basket can be retrieved. When basket actions are used, the store sends the relevant cart request to Shopify. Hosting and security providers may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site.

Optional analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with your consent to understand visits and basket activity. Its tag loads after you opt in. Page-view events include the page path without query strings. Other events record product views, successful basket additions and basket views. Google also processes browser, device and usage information. You can withdraw consent on our cookies page.

Our Google Analytics property is configured to retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. “Reset on new user activity” is enabled, so new activity restarts the retention period for the associated user identifier. That identifier may therefore be retained longer than 14 months from the first visit. These settings do not affect most standard reports based on aggregated data.

Our admin report shows the last 28 days of event totals. You can withdraw analytics consent through our cookies page.

Shopify checkout and orders

When you use our Shopify checkout, Shopify processes contact information, delivery and billing addresses, order details and payment information to provide checkout and payment services. We use the order information available to us to process purchases, answer enquiries and handle cancellations and refunds. We rely on performance of the purchase contract for these activities and legal obligations for required accounting and consumer-rights records.

Our planned CJdropshipping fulfilment process requires sharing the recipient's name, delivery address, relevant contact details and ordered items with CJ and the delivery carrier so the parcel can be prepared and delivered. We retain purchase and support records for the periods needed to fulfil orders, address refunds or disputes, and meet applicable accounting and legal record-keeping duties. Payment providers apply their own retention requirements to the payment information they process.

Service providers and overseas processing

We use Vercel for website hosting and delivery, Shopify for product, basket and checkout services, Google for consent-based analytics, and Proton Mail for customer correspondence. These providers may process information outside the UK.

Shopify and Vercel publish data-processing terms addressing international transfers, including contractual safeguards where applicable. The safeguards relevant to our accounts and the planned transfer of delivery information to CJ in China must be confirmed before launch. You can request information about applicable safeguards by emailing our privacy contact.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may ask to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and object to direct marketing at any time.

You can withdraw analytics consent through the preferences on our cookies page. Withdrawing consent affects future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
